POSITION TITLE:               JFON-NE Paralegal

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

The JFON-NE Paralegal will report to and will be assigned duties delegated by the Iowa Managing Attorney. The JFON-NE Paralegal is responsible for assisting with the provision of direct legal services to immigrant clients in Nebraska and Southwest Iowa.  Duties involve performing various administrative functions, including but not limited to, the support of clerical, legal research, draft memoranda, media and communications, and program functions. The JFON-NE Paralegal is responsible for carrying out tasks, administrative or otherwise, that the assigned supervising attorney so directs in collaboration with the Operations Manager. The JFON-NE Paralegal may receive assignments from other attorneys according to the organization’s current legal service needs. The JFON-NE Paralegal will work with the JFON-NE Legal Support Team to ensure high quality immigration legal services to JFON-NE clients.

This JFON-NE Paralegal position is located in Omaha, Nebraska with regular travel required to our Council Bluffs, Iowa offices.

POSITION TITLE:
Rural Capacity Building Operations Manager and Evaluation Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

The Rural Capacity Building (RCB) Operations Manager and Evaluation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Rural Capacity Building program and ensuring connectivity among its offices. This position will also oversee evaluation of the RCB program to ensure its meeting its objectives and identifying avenues for improvement. Key program areas include providing direct immigration legal services to low-income immigrant community members in rural Nebraska; working with rural communities in identifying their local needs for capacity-building; and providing education, advocacy and representation support to facilitate growth toward community identified goals for rural community inclusion.

This is a full-time position based out of JFON-NE’s Omaha office, but frequent travel throughout the state is required.

POSITION TITLE:
Rural Capacity Building Attorney

JFON-NE is seeking candidates to fill multiple RCB Attorney positions in the Grand Island, Scottsbluff, Crete, Nebraska City and South Sioux City areas. RCB Attorneys will office at or near those locations. Moderate travel to JFON-NE service areas and throughout the state will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

The Rural Capacity Building (RCB) Attorney is responsible for the provision of direct legal services to immigrant families in targeted underserved rural Nebraska communities.

The RCB Attorney will work on identifying collaborative community partners to build capacity for the provision of long-term immigration services within the targeted rural communities. This RCB Attorney will work with the RCB program team, the JFON-NE team, community members, and a wide variety of community partners to assist in carrying out the objectives of the program. Key program areas include providing direct immigration legal services to low-income immigrant community members in rural Nebraska; working with rural communities in identifying their local needs for capacity-building; and providing education, advocacy and representation support to facilitate growth toward community identified goals for rural community inclusion.

This is a full-time position will be based in Omaha, Nebraska. This position will oversee staff attorneys working out of Columbus, Nebraska City, Crete and South Sioux City Regular travel to JFON-NE sites within the Eastern RCB area and periodic travel throughout the state of Nebraska is required.

Regular travel to JFON-NE sites within the Western Central RCB area and periodic travel throughout the state of Nebraska is required.
