JFON-NE condemns in the strongest possible terms the decision just made to end the DACA program.
Now, more than ever, we urge you to contact your members of Congress to call upon them to back the DREAM Act. Nearly 800,000 lives hang in the balance. Those affected by this decision are immigrant youth who have been brought to the U.S. as children, who are in school or who have graduated, and who have already been determined to pose no national security or public safety threat. They have grown up in this country, and are Americans in every sense of the word, except on paper. We must create a pathway out of the crises created by today’s decision.
If you are a DACA recipient (or an ally) and want to learn more about what you can do, attend Defending the Dream, an information and Q&A session Thursday, September 7 at 6:00 pm at College of Saint Mary Gross Auditorium.
